Bryant Hightower Jr., CFSP, is part of a funeral service family that now includes it’s fourth generation.

Bryant has served the state of Georgia in many ways, including terms as president of the Georgia Funeral Directors Association and the Academy of Graduate Embalmers of Georgia. On a national level, Bryant has served on many National Funeral Directors Association Committees; currently, he serves as Treasurer to the NFDA Board of Directors and will being his term as President-Elect in October of 2018. His national service also includes being a member of the Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team (DMORT) for nearly fifteen years. DMORTs are composed of private citizens, each with a particular field of expertise, who are activated in the event of a disaster.

Committed to his community, Bryant has volunteered his time and talents with many organizations, such as The Rotary Club of Carrollton, Carroll Relay for Life, and the Tanner Medical Center Foundation. His local service also includes terms as president of the Carrollton Mainstreet Board of Directors, Carrollton Jaycees, Carrollton Evening Sertoma Club, and Carroll County Chapter of Ducks Unlimited.

He and his wife, Cathy, have three daughters and reside in Carrollton, Georgia.

William “Bill” Hightower is a lifelong resident of Haralson County.

Bill began working in his father’s business when he was sixteen years old – washing cars and driving ambulan

He graduated from Bremen High School in 1985, Carroll Technical School as an Emergency Medical Technician in 1986, Metro Paramedic Program in 1987 and Gupton Jones Mortuary College in 1989.

He is a licensed Funeral Director, Embalmer, Cardiovascular Technician and Critical Care Paramedic and is fully involved in the funeral business, ambulance service and the cemetery.

Bill married Susan Adams of Buchanan in 1993.  They have four children: son, Chris Wright, a graduate of Bremen High School and Auburn University; son, Ryan Smith, a graduate of Bremen High School and West Georgia College, son, Tyler Smith, a graduate of Bremen High School and a daughter, Jacquelyn Hightower, a graduate of Bremen High School and currently attending Auburn University.

Russell Walton

Russell joined Hightower Family Funeral Homes in 2009. Russell is a lifelong resident of West Georgia and a lifelong, active member at Sweetwater Baptist Church. He is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. Russell graduated from Douglas County High School in 1987 and from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in 2018. Russell is married to Julie Martin Walton and they have three sons, Justin and his wife, Cassie, Corey and Chris. Russell is the son of the late Perry James Walton and the late Betty Nella Jean Hunter Walton. He is the brother to Keith (Katherine) Walton, Phil (Roxie) Walton, and Sherri (Bruce) Walker. He is an avid fisherman and a member and past president of the Fisher's of Men Bass Club with whom he participates in various BASS tournaments. Russell also enjoys camping and hunting with his sons. Debbie is a native of Douglas County, the Fair Play Community. Debbie worked for many years as a Para-Professional in the Kindergarten Department at South Douglas Elementary School. Debbie continues to work with the Douglas County School System at the central office. She has been with the school system since 1992.

Debbie has three daughters, one son-in-law, and one granddaughter. She enjoys her service to the community with the Board of Education, her church, and at Hightower's Memorial Chapel.

Katherine has been in Douglas County for over 40 years. She is a very active member of Sweetwater Baptist Church. She and her husband, Keith Walton, have been married for 20 years. They have two children: Crystal Thomason and Christopher Gable and two granddaughters: Madalyn and Molly. Katherine takes her work with families during a loss very seriously. She is honored to be able to minister to those in need.
